The Odisha Government has officially started the application process for the Pathani Samanta Mathematics Scholarship Exam 2023. The state scholarship portal is available from December 12, and students have until December 31 to submit their applications to qualify for scholarship benefits. The timing of the scholarship scheme is given in the following table:-
- Stage- I (7 Years) Class- VI to VIII
- Phase II (4 years) Class IX to XII

PMST Delivery Process
Pathani Samant Mathematics Scholarship Exam provides scholarships in different stages:
Stage I:
- 4000 scholarships are available for class VI students.
- Scholarship amount Rs. 200 per month.
- The scholarship is provided for 7 years from class VI to class XII.
- Continuation in the scholarship program for the next year is dependent on securing a minimum of 60% aggregate score in the final examination of the previous year.
- Scholarships are distributed as follows:
- 314 Block: 10 scholarships per block, a total of 3140 scholarships.
- 63 Municipalities: 10 scholarships per municipality, a total of 630 scholarships.
- 37 NAC (Notified Area Council): 5 scholarships per NAC, total 185 scholarships.
- 3 Municipal Corporations: 15 scholarships per corporation, total 45 scholarships.
Step II:
- 1000 scholarships are available for class IX students.
- Scholarship amount Rs. 300 per month.
Step III:
- There are 300 scholarships available for class XI students.
- Scholarship amount Rs. 500 per month.
- These scholarships are awarded to those who score top 300 marks in Mathematics in the HSC (Higher Secondary Certificate) examination conducted by the Board of Secondary Education, Odisha.
The scholarship amount will be credited electronically into the students’ accounts every six months, and Principals (H.M.) and District Inspectors or District Education Officers (D.I./DEO) will be informed about the transfer for communication to the students. Special Input Session
The details of this special input session available in this scholarship scheme are below:-
- Special input sessions for scholarship holders will be organized in the following manner-
- Durga Puja – 6 days
- Winter Vacation – 9 days
- Summer Holidays – 30 days
- Total – 45 days
- Inputs will be provided by trained teachers at 157 locations for rural areas and 53 locations for urban areas
PMST Eligibility Criteria
The eligibility criteria for the Pathani Samant Mathematics Scholarship Test (PMST) are as follows:
Step 1 Eligibility:
The applicant must be studying in an Oriya medium school.
The applicant must be enrolled in class 6th.
The student must have successfully passed the class 5th examination with a minimum of 50% marks in Mathematics.\
Step 2 Eligibility:
- The students must be studying in class 9th.
- Applicants must have passed class 8th examination with minimum 50% marks in Mathematics.
