RTE Tamilnadu Admission in the private schools under the right to Education Act 2009 has been started. In reputed private schools, 25% seats are kept reserved for the children who belong to financially weaker family. Through RTE, student can take admission in the class nursery, LKG, UKG and first standard. Parents of the children can submit the application on behalf of the student. This year there are a round 8000 private schools over 94000 seats available for RTE quota

Objective of RTE Tamil Nadu
The objective of Government of Tamilnadu behind launching RTE Tamil Nadu admission is to provide free in compulsory education to the children of the state. They are many children who belongs to economically weaker section and disadvantage group who are not able to pay their education fee. To provide education to such students till the age of 14 years government provide them free education. All the students who take admission under RTE will get education in reputed private schools without any fee.
Eligibility Criteria
All those parents whose child meet the eligibility criteria specified below will able to submit the application:
- Application should be a permanent resident of Tamil Nadu
- Applicant must belong to the economically weaker section, disadvantaged group or disadvantaged group special category
- During the selection disabled children, wards of scavengers and HIV infected children will get preference
- Annual income of applicant’s family should not more than Rs 2 lakh rupees per annum
- For admission in LKG the date of birth of the children must be in between 31st July 2017 to 31st July 2018
- For admission in first standard the date of birth of the children must be in between 31st July 2015 to 31st July 2016
- BC others, MBC, ST, SC others, SC aruthathiyar, OC, DNC, a social category not disclosed applicants are not eligible.
